Exceptional 1949-51-era sweater worn by UNC lineman Joe Dudeck. Emblazoned with a large UNC patch at the left breast and heavy cloth patches at the elbows the dark blue woolen sweater was discovered near Hazleton Pennsylvania Dudeck's hometown. As one would expect from a college lineman's sweater the cloth demonstrates considerable wear in the form of pulls to the wool stretching (most visible at the buttonholes) and several holes. The bottom of the sweater also exhibits some fraying to the cloth. No embroidery or tags are visible inside the sweater however it was consigned along with the UNC Bench Blanket from the same era. A wonderful vintage piece.
