One of an exceptional grouping of cabinet photos that we are breaking into individual lots featuring members of the 1896 Cornell football squad. Under coach Joe Beacham the program then in its 10th season finished with a 5-3 record behind Yale and Harvard for third place in their Independent conference. Virtually all of the players are unidentified unless specifically noted each grading in the VG/EX range with photos appearing NM and edge and corner wear to the mounts. Specific condition issues are noted in the individual descriptions of each of the photos. An excellent assortment of early Ivy League football cabinets. Exhibiting perhaps the most foxing of all the photos in the collection this image remains clear with some minor chipping to the mount and corners and very slight surface abrasions on the photo itself.
