I have one to sell!
One of an exceptional grouping of cabinet photos that we are breaking into individual lots featuring members of the 1896 Cornell football squad. Under coach Joe Beacham the program then in its 10th season finished with a 5-3 record behind Yale and Harvard for third place in their Independent conference. Virtually all of the players are unidentified unless specifically noted each grading in the VG/EX range with photos appearing NM and edge and corner wear to the mounts. Specific condition issues are noted in the individual descriptions of each of the photos. An excellent assortment of early Ivy League football cabinets. This particular example is housed in a second cardboard frame (which is for all practical purposes falling apart - pieced together here for photography purposes). The frame has been lavishly decorated with decals related to Cornell and its host city of Ithaca NY with the name "A. S. Petty" prominently featured on several of the decals. The frame is identified as "Capt. R Ratcliff " with "1896 Football" written in pencil underneath. The photo itself appears striking and clean though the original mount has been trimmed to fit into the new cardboard frame.
