Authentic Type 1 photo depicting the 1944 New York Giants featuring future Hall of Famers Mel Ott Joe Medwick and Ernie Lombardi. The photo is clearly creased and worn with significant surface wear and writing on the face of the photo. The writing is likely attributable to infielder Nap Reyes the sole Cuban member of the team who apparently signed and inscribed the photo to his former manager Gordo Munoz. Reyes played three seasons with the Giants and won a Gold Medal in the 1940 Baseball World Cub with Cuba. The photo originated in Cuba where it comes to us as part of a small collection that was consigned to this auction. Despite the wear an interesting backstory with handwriting and signature from one of Cuban baseball's 1940s stars.
