Full-season pass to the 1959 Chicago Bears games at Wrigley Field in Chicago as issued to "Forty Thousand Murphy" and a guest. Murphy clearly made good use of his pass which is well-worn with significant creasing and wear throughout. Still despite all the wear the presentation is strong. For the season the Bears finished second under the direction of George Halas with an 8-4 record unfortunately for Mr. Murphy missing the playoffs. Oddly enough there are internet records for "Forty Thousand Murphy." Joe Murphy was an usher at Wrigley who received his nickname because whenever he was asked how many people were in the park he would say "Forty thousand!" Murphy was the chief of 240 ushers at the 1952 Republican National Convention in Chicago clearly important enough to receive a pass to the Bears games at Wrigley.
