Extremely attractive American League season pass issued by the league office to one Elmer Hallberg entitling him and a guest to access to all American League parks for the 1948 season. The pass is in EX to EX/MT condition the only noticeable blemish being where a misspelling in Hallberg's name was corrected likely at the point of issue in 1948. Hallberg was some sort of baseball dignitary as this is not the first of his season passes that we have offered in our auctions. The 1948 season was an exceptional one however the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox finishing in a dead heat just 2 1/2 games ahead of the Yankees. The Indians defeated the Red Sox in a one-game playoff (the Red Sox simply do not have luck in the one-game playoff format) and then defeated the Boston Braves. Mr. Hallberg could have seen Ted Williams achieve a .369 batting average Joe DiMaggio win the home run title with 39 and Lou Boudreau win the American League MVP award. This pass could also have admitted Mr. Hallberg to Babe Ruth's number retirement ceremony on June 13 Bob Lemon's no hitter on June 30 or Satchel Paige's Major League debut in July.
