I have one to sell!
Clean attractive 1950 Bowman complete set. Compiled by a long-time collector many years before the existence of third-party grading this set was built with special consideration to overall eye appeal as the collector completed his set long after the cards were issued and yet long before the internet made it possible to easily find cards in any grade at any time. The resulting hunt resulted in two complete 1950 Bowman sets which will be offering in our next two auctions. The cards are clean with crisp registration and bold vivid color. Many are subject to the centering issues frequently found with Bowman cards and in many cases the collector made concessions on technical grade in order to fill his set with the cards that boasted the strongest overall eye appeal. As such technical grades are lower than the cards' eye appeal would suggest as many of the cards suffer from print/distribution issues like centering problems and wax stains and others fall prey to soft corners edge wear and the like. A breakdown of the set's technical grade would be 3% NM or better; 14% EX/MT; 31% EX; 40% VG/EX; 10% VG; and 5% G/F/P/Trimmed. A breakdown of the key cards would be as follows: #6 Feller VG; #8 Kell VG/EX; #11 Rizzuto EX; #19 Spahn VG/EX; #21 Reese VG/EX; #22 Robinson VG/EX; #32 Roberts VG; #33 Kiner VG/EX; #35 Slaughter VG/EX; #39 Doby VG; #40 Lemon VG; #43 Doerr VG/EX; #46 Berra VG/EX; #71 Schoendienst VG/EX; #75 Campanella EX; #77 Snider VG; #84 Ashburn EX/MT; #88 Williams G-VG; #139 Mize VG; #148 Wynn EX; #217 Stengel EX/MT; #220 Durocher EX; #229 Frisch VG. Given that the cards in this set were acquired the "old school" way of trading searching scouring shows and dealer ads in newspapers and hobby publications we have elected to offer the cards the "old school" way as well - ungraded in a binder protected by plastic binder sheets. An attractive and fun set offered as it was assembled. 252 cards total.
