Gorgeous 5.5" x 8" photo dated to 1934 one of the earliest photos of the soon-to-be Yankee Clipper in his San Francisco Seals uniform. Already a bona fide star in the PCL Joltin' Joe had hit .340 and .341 in his first two full seasons with the Seals raising his game to .398 in 1935 before moving to the majors. Minor wear is visible on the front with newsroom notes and paper remnants (likely from a slug) are visible on the reverse. An exceptional "pre-rookie" photo of one of the game's greatest players.
