One of the hobby's more underrated issues the 80-card Nu-Card "Baseball Scoops" set featured a mock newspaper front each of the set's 80 cards featuring a highlight from the history of the game. Each of the cards contains a large photo and "headline" on the card front along with a "news" article on the reverse of each card. Due to the subject matter of the issue the set contains cards of many of the greatest players to have ever set foot on a ballfield between the dawn of the game and the year of the set's issue. This particular set was carefully assembled by a condition-conscious collector and the set's GPA of 8.028 reflects that. No card in the set has achieved a grade below NM 7 and just eight examples attained that grade. An additional seven received a grade of MINT 9 with the balance graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Several of the cards - #440 Walter Johnson #463 Warren Spahn and #476 Dizzy and Daffy Dean are among the lower population cards in the set with just one or two cards graded higher. Also included with the set is a wax wrapper from the issue in apparent VG/EX condition with some light pencil writing on the reverse. An exceptionally attractive set. 80 cards plus one wrapper total.
