News service photo depicting superstar Lefty O'Doul and actor Gary Cooper posing with baseball bats for the film The Pride Of The Yankees. O'Doul served as a consultant on the film working with Cooper on helping the right-handed hitter learn to bat lefty. Cooper legendarily wore a uniform with a backwards "4" on the reverse swung the bat righty and ran to third base instead of first for the film because his righty swing was much more natural than his lefty swing. The photo itself is in VG condition with some age-related wear and waviness to the top edge that suggests exposure to moisture at some point; some foxing and staining on the left is also an indication.
