Collection of exceptionally rare uncancelled George C. Miller cards including Lefty O"Doul Mel Ott (HOF) and Dale Alexander. Produced at the Golden Age of card collecting the George C. Miller Co. of Boston produced a 32-card set of 1933"s stars a set that received limited distribution at the time of issue. Youngsters purchasing the candy (and thus the cards) could complete the 32-card set and then redeem the cards for a "Fielder"s Mit regulation American or National League Baseball or 1 Grandstand Seat to any American or National League Game (except World Series) at any Park." The cards would be returned cancelled with the prize that the redeemer selected.Cards were canceled by the company in one of two ways - a series of hole punches or by slicing off the bottom of the card with a scissor of blade. As a result many of the surviving R300 George C. Miller cards are damaged with such hole punches adding a level of scarcity to an already difficult set. Indeed only half a dozen or so complete sets have been assembled most auctioned off in their entirety over the past few years. These three examples despite their condition have NOT been canceled a rare beast among this set. Each graded POOR 10 by SGC they suffer from a variety of flaws most notably creasing and severe surface wear along with spots of paper loss on the reverse of the Ott and more severe loss on the reverse of the Alexander. Still acquiring three cards from this scarce issue is a collecting coup an opportunity that does not come along frequently in the hobby. Three cards total.
