Attractive news service photo depicting an older Jim Thorpe in "traditional" Indian garb. Offensive by today's standards this image was used on Thorpe's 1930s Exhibits card (featured elsewhere in this auction). While condition would be described as FAIR due to some tears marks and tack holes the image quality itself is exceptionally strong the detail clear and visible. Ultimately we cannot imagine an athlete as elite as Thorpe was very happy about posing for this photo but it remains a classic image nonetheless.
