The popularity of the T206 Eddie Plank card its scarcity and its legend has been chronicled elsewhere in this auction. A natural phenomenon that results from the popularity and rarity of such iconic cards from the era however is the increased desirability of other cards containing that same pose. As is the case with the classic Charles Conlon photo that was portraitized for the T206 Honus Wagner card the rising tide has raised all boats with respect to the Eddie Plank image which is also found on his E95 Philadelphia Caramel (as well as his E107 and Ramly cards). Surely the Eddie Plank E95 is one of the set"s key cards routinely selling for considerably high prices. This presents a problem for collectors looking to obtain an "affordable" copy of an Eddie Plank card that features this portrait. Thankfully we have one here - a truly collector-grade example one that is fresh to the hobby by way of the "Full Count Find " straight from the family of the original owner. Presenting strongly for the grade the primary culprit is the extremely heavy creasing across the card face (so heavy in fact that the card is very fragile). Corner and edge wear along with general dirt also contribute. An affordable collector-grade example of one of the hobby"s most iconic poses.Population DataSGC Population: 23 total graded 3 at this level 17 higherPSA Population: 78 total graded 13 at this level 58 higher
