Scarce colorful window advertising display featuring a clown holding a tin of Lorillard"s Climax Plug tobacco. Intended to be mounted in a store window the reverse of this 6" x 14" display advises patrons to "Close the Door" as they depart. The display printed on heavy cardboard is in G-VG condition largely due to wear along the right edge that culminates in an inch-long tear near the clown"s chin. The piece has several indentations and small creases throughout and the reverse contains some chipping and paper pulls along with evidence of glue residue from mounting. Still each of these condition flaws are minor and certainly do not detract from the excellent displayability of the piece. Tobacco era display materials are in high demand among collectors and the scarcity and colorful nature of this one make it extremely desirable.
