I have one to sell!
One of the most beloved players of his time Hall of Fame pitcher Addie Joss sported a career ERA of 1.89 the second lowest in baseball history. Printed just months before Joss" untimely and tragic passing in April of 1911 this card is part of the more scarce Cycle 460 series. As we have noted in several lot descriptions over the past three auctions the Cycle 460 reverse is significant due to its scarcity relative to other backs (T206Resource considers it the 15th most scarce back of all the T206 backs). T206 scholar Scot Reader has estimated that Cycle 460 backs have been selling for a multiple of 13x the more common back. This example graded VG 40 by SGC has been subject to significant corner wear (and a dog-eared upper-right corner) along with chipping along the edges (most notably on the left but also present on the right). Still it is a well-centered example with a difficult reverse a scarce card of a key Hall of Famer printed just months before his passing. More importantly it is the highest-graded example of this card chronicled on the PSA and SGC population reports. An excellent addition to any Hall of Famer collection.Population DataSGC Population: 3 total graded 1 at this level 0 higherPSA Population: 1 total graded 0 at this level 0 higher*Please note that PSA just recently began to differentiate between T206 back variations in their population reports so it is entirely possible that other examples of this card may have been graded by PSA and classified in their pop reports as "unknown back."
