Extremely attractive complete 1963 Topps set from the "Texas Find." Each card from this set was collected in the year of issue and painstakingly added to the photo album where it resided for decades. We were thrilled as we carefully removed the cards from their "photo corners " to discover so many examples where the colored borders exhibited no chipping whatsoever. While some of the cards did exhibit slight corner dings or edge wear and of course they're subject to the typical Topps centering and print defects of the era those colored borders are simply spectacular and seeing so many without the chipping typically associated with the issue is a thrill. We submitted nine of the set's key cards and submitted them to PSA receiving the following grades: #25 Al Kaline (PSA EX-MT 6) #200 Mickey Mantle (PSA EX 5) #300 Willie Mays (PSA NM 7) #345 Brooks Robinson (PSA EX 5) #490 Willie McCovey (PSA EX-MT 6) #537 Pete Rose Rookie (PSA EX 5) #540 Roberto Clemente (PSA NM 7) #550 Duke Snider (PSA NM-MT 8) and #553 Willie Stargell rookie (PSA EX 5). We feel that these grades are largely representative of the set in its entirety which we graded 15% NM or better 25% EX/MT 40% EX 10% VG/EX and 10% lesser with the majority of the flaws related to centering or slight corner wear. Key cards grade as follows: #125 Roberts (EX) #210 Koufax (EX) #320 Spahn (EX) #340 Berra EX/MT w/miscut top edge #353 B Williams EX-MT #365 Bunning EX-MT #380 Banks (EX-MT) #390 Aaron (EX) #400 F Robinson (EX/MT) #415 Gibson (EX/MT) #440 Marichal (EX/MT) #446 Ford (EX/MT) #472 Brock (NM) #500 Killebrew (EX/MT) #520 Cepeda (EX). An exceptional 1963 Topps set as collected by its original owner in the day of issue from one of the largest baseball card "finds" of the year.
