The "Full Count Find" is a multigenerational collection of cards the prewar component of which was assembled by a boy growing up in California in the early 1900s. While the collection"s prewar component included a variety of tobacco and caramel issues the most beautiful and interesting group within the collection were the 1915 Cracker Jacks. With nearly 140 different cards the set was almost 75% complete when it arrived at our offices on consignment from the family of the original owner. In fact when pulling the cards together and registering them as a set on the PSA Registry we were surprised to discover that the cards were collectively enough to land the set at #25 on PSA"s All Time Finest list and #17 on the Current Finest list. After considerable soul-searching however we decided that the best way to offer this outstanding collection would be to break it into lots and sell the components in smaller groups with most Hall of Famers listed individually and commons broken into a variety of smaller groups. Presented here is one of those lots from the "Full Count Find " an original owner collection of fantastic cards fresh to the hobby.A beautiful example of future Yankee manager Miller "The Mighty Mite" Huggins. A note from the owner of LOTG: Early in my collecting "career " I owned a copy of this card. Someone had quite literally taken a bite out of it: you could see actual teeth marks in the lower right corner. The toning was so severe that the entire card was brown and the card was so heavily creased that parts of it seemed in danger of falling off. The condition was so poor I was afraid to even pick the card up or move it out of its plastic sleeve. I was always fascinated by the idea that someone actually ATE part of the card and that whomever it was had likely grown up and passed on - and yet I had his teeth marks on my Miller Huggins card. In any event though this card has been graded VG/EX 4 by PSA it looks GEM MINT by comparison.Population DataPSA Population: 74 total graded 8 at this level 45 higherSGC Population: 30 total graded 7 at this level 12 higher
