Lot Description  

Beautiful card of young Yankees pitching star Al Downing. Downing would famously serve up Hank Aaron's record-breaking 715th lifetime home run in 1974 but his career is worthy of more than just a footnote. A 20-game winner with the 1971 Dodgers Downing had a 3.22 lifetime ERA in his 17-year career winning 10 games or more in five consecutive seasons during the Yankees mid-60s decline.
