Measuring 26" x 9 3/4" in what is quite likely its original frame this beautiful photo depicts two unnamed teams lined up in front of the grandstand before what may well be a championship game of some sort. This photo is exactly the type of photo that frustrates us to no end at LOTG as the photo itself is incredibly clear but the players are distant enough that there are no discernible team names the floral arrangement at home plate has a ribbon that is too far in the distance to read the letters "MACH'Y" on the left of the grandstand may refer to the Port Huron Machinery Co of Port Huron Michigan but may not. Further our desire to preserve the piece in its original frame prevents us from removing the backing in hopes that something is written on the reverse or along the borders. As such we cannot identify either team which is the type of thing that causes us to lose sleep. Still the photo itself is wonderful presenting in EX condition despite what appears to be some wrinkling and cracking to the photographic paper in various spots as well as overall soiling. The only hint as to the photo's origin is etched into the negative itself reading "ISRAEL Port Huron." A beautiful document of what is likely to be factory or semipro baseball from the heartland of America.
