WIth four incredibly attractive cards in the T206 issue Ty Cobb is certainly well-represented. It is this version however his "Green Background" card that is often considered the most scarce and popular and routinely eclipses the other three in terms of realized prices. One of the rare cards where the supply will never exceed the demand this is certainly the most sought-after attainable card in the wildly popular T206 issue one that is often the "white whale" of collectors dipping their toes into the T206 pool and possibly Cobb"s most famous baseball card. Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC this example is very strong with rounded corners and better-than-normal L-R centering. The card often found with severe top-to-bottom centering problems exhibits the same here though less dramatic than with many other examples. Moderate surface wear is perhaps the card"s greatest condition flaw though Cobb"s face is clear and the bold green background still very strong.
