I have one to sell!
Long considered to be the first gum card issue the cards produced by Green & Blackwell of New York were distributed with candy or gum in 1888 and are nearly identical to the Yum Yum Tobacco issue of the same year. The issue contains the only known card of Hall of Famer A. G. Spalding (though only one example is known) along with many other Hall of Famers and stars of the era. As the issue is very rare it is speculated that new discoveries will continue to become known over time. This example features popular catcher Silver Flint one of the more popular non-HOF subjects among 19th Century collectors. Born Frank Sylvester Flint in 1855 the catcher received his nickname due to his silver hair. At the time of his retirement he led all catchers in games played and was revered for his defense. Graded VG 40 by SGC the card features natural age-related wear and a slightly faded image yet is still quite attractive for the issue.
