According to T206resource.com the Brown Lenox back is the rarest of all T206 backs that was actually inserted into packs. Indeed the PSA Population Report indicates just 14 Brown Lenox cards have been graded (it is difficult to determine how many have been graded by SGC) and while there are likely more graded examples incorrectly catalogued in population reports the point remains: Brown Lenox backs are really rare. This example is the popular "holding trophy" pose of first baseman Hal Chase. This is not the "holding trophy" Brown Lenox that sold at auction earlier this year - that was a different example of the same card. That two Brown Lenox examples of the same subject would become available at two different auctions in the same year is quite remarkable indeed. This one graded FAIR 20 by SGC exhibits obvious creasing throughout the card as well as a good deal of corner and edge wear however the reverse is aside from some mild soiling clean and legible. An incredibly rare card featuring a very desirable subject one not likely to make itself available again in the near future. PLEASE NOTE: There has been some question among collectors about the Lenox ad on the reverse. Some were curious as to whether the back was simply a faded black Lenox ad and not a brown one. While we were confident that the card was indeed a brown Lenox Chase this week we took the extra step of sending the card to SGC for a second look. We're happy to say that we did receive confirmation from SGC today that the card is indeed a BROWN Lenox Hal Chase as advertised. SGC was kind enough to reholder the card in the most updated SGC holder and we will have the reholdered card back in our offices on November 17. NEW NOTE: Revised scans have now been uploaded. Please be sure to clear your cache and refresh your browser when looking so that you're viewing the correct scan. SGC has replaced the "flip" as well as the holder so the newest image should show the new label with the green border around all four sides.
