The N287 Buchner Gold Coin set was issued in 1887 by D. Buchner & Company of New York along with Gold Coin brand chewing tobacco. Each card features a generic player drawing and pose with a player"s name position and team printed underneath. The same drawings are often used multiple times within the set each colored differently and depicting different players. There are three possible back variations associated with this set.This is an excellent example of the Giants" infielder"s card. Any 19th Century baseball issue is scarce and valuable and this card - which is only bested by one example grade-wise - is no exception.
