One of the most exciting things about the San Antonio collection that was consigned to us has been the surprises it contained within it. On our first day handling the collection we slowly looked through a binder that contained miscellaneous signed cards from the 1950s - all were commons. Toward the back of the binder we discovered this - a signed example of Roger Maris' first card. While the signature is slightly faded it was initially applied in bold black ink so it still shows up well against the image of Maris. The card presents well despite being a collector-grade example. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA this is one of the most coveted autographed star cards of the 1950s.
