Notoriously difficult to find in higher grades T213-2 Coupon Cigarettes cards were produced between 1914 and 1916 with cards using the identical poses as the T206 issue (though with blue typeface at the bottom of the card). This example of Washington prankster Germany Schaefer has been graded VG 40 by SGC. One of the league"s best-liked players Schaefer is known for the classic baseball story where he stole first base - with runners on first and third Schaefer stole second attempting to draw a throw so the runner on third could score. When the catcher did not throw Schaefer ran back to first base on the next pitch hoping to draw a throw again.A quality example of one of the game"s earliest colorful personalities the Washington variation is the most scarce of the three available T213-2 cards of Schaefer.Population DataSGC Population: 2 total graded 1 at this level 0 higherPSA Population: 1 total graded 0 at this level 0 higher
