Components of a 1921 Southern Railway broadside advertisement promiting a three-day trip to Washington DC to see the Yankees play the Senators on September 4 were pieced together to create this attractive matted and framed display piece. The broadside which had been damaged and torn was carefully cut so that the damaged pieces were removed and then mounted to a black matte. The resulting display is extremely attractive depicting Walter Johnson and Babe Ruth along with all the relevant details about the trip. This broadside originates from the Walter Johnson estate. Matted and framed to a finished size of 17" x 24" the piece is extremely pleasing to the eye despite the fact that the broadside is not in its original form.
