I have one to sell!
Curious 8x10" photo of what is clearly a young Don Drysdale wearing a Kingston uniform. Drysdale is beginning his windup as two gentlemen look on. Written on the reverse in pencil is "Burt Shotton & Don Drysdale." The gentleman in the far left of the photo is clearly Burt Shotton. Shotgun was the Dodgers manager during the late 1940s while Jackie Robinson was brought up to the team. He later became a managerial consultant in the Dodgers farm system and then a manager again in 1950. What we can't seem to find is a place where Drysdale and Shotton would be teamed up. Certainly not in Kingston which we assume is Kingston New York or Kingston Ontario. In researching this photo we've run into some dead ends. We considered withdrawing the lot until such a time as we could research it further but instead decided it would be fun to ask the hobby to help research the photo and a young Drysdale's reason for being there in a Kingston uniform with Burt Shotton.
