In extreme collector grade presented are 19 of the 30 cards in the 1920-21 W516-1 strip card set. Strip cards are notoriously found miscut and otherwise abused and these are no different - cut small torn off their strips and severely worn by 1920s kids that were decidedly not condition-conscious many of these cards did not survive the year they were produced much less the Depression and a World War. Crudely produced on flimsy stock the cards were easily damaged to begin with and the treatment of 1920s youngsters fresh from the candy store was not favorable to the cards. The result is that large groupings in any condition are not easy to find. The 19 cards included in this lot all graded POOR or AUTHENTIC with the appearance of being poor are as follows: #2 Groh #3 Bodie #4 Schalk (HOF) #5 Speaker (HOF) #7 Hornsby (HOF) #8 Johnson (HOF torn and in very poor condition) #9 Alexander (HOF) #10 Burns #14 Fletcher #15 Rudolph #17 Nehf #22 Gowdy #23 Collins (HOF) #25 Milan #26 Kelley #27 Hooper (HOF) #28 Young #29 Rousch (HOF) #30 Bancroft (HOF - torn).Unquestionably a very poor condition collection of cards this is still an interesting collection and an affordable way to get a great start on a prewar baseball set.
