Incredible 20" x 16" photo depicting the entire Oliver Typewriter Company team on the field posed as if in game action. The team name "The Olivers" is lettered in the lower-left of the photo which is mounted on heavy board. Aside from some age-related soiling and surface blemishes moderate edge wear and one prominent crease in the upper-right corner the detail and contrast in the image is astonishing. The Oliver Typewriter teams of the early 20th Century were considered one of the best semipro teams in Illinois even playing at least one exhibition game against the Cubs. Longtime infielder George Moriarty got his start in the majors playing for an Oliver team in one of those exhibitions.
