One of the sales aides given to Topps salesmen as a "leave-behind" for retailers to preview the upcoming year's cards these three-card uncut panels are difficult to find and are an excellent companioon piece for Topps collectors. The reverse of the panels contained selling copy promoting that year's issue and in this case the 1965 Topps "Embossed" inserts. Salesman's samples often took a beating because they were transported from place to place utilized as display materials by retailers and otherwise beaten. This example featuring Rob Herbel Joe Gibbon and Ed Charles has been very well-preserved authenticated and encapsulated by PSA. While centering is off from left-to-right the lack of wrinkling holes and clear tape marks - three flaws very common to salesman's samples - more than makes up for it. Today salesman's samples are highly collectible in their own right the subject of spirited bidding and aggressive trading among advanced collectors. An excellent example from the popular 1965 issue.
