The T213-2 Coupon Cigarettes issues probably due to their resemblance to the T206 cards are extremely underappreciated when it comes to condition. The gloss coating on the card fronts are more akin to the T207 cards in terms of susceptibility to chipping and like other New Orleans-based issues are extremely condition sensitive. To compare of all the T206 cards to have been graded by PSA more than 28% have graded at the EX level or better. Of the T213-2 cards they have graded just 2.5% have attained the EX level with only ONE CARD grading EX-MT. It is with that background that we present the very familiar "Red Background" Ty Cobb card graded EX 60 by SGC. The card is quite beautiful well-centered with a richness of color typically not seen in this card. Between SGC and PSA this is the highest-graded Red Background T213 Cobb and it rests alone at that plateau. PSA has graded two Cobbs at the VG-EX level and SGC has graded four but no others have been strong enough to rate an EX. An outstanding card one that has been tucked away in the collection of a Texas executive for some time.
