Much more similar to "traditional" cabinets than the T3 issue Sporting Life cabinets consist of photos affixed to a heavy ornate cardboard mount. Offered as premiums by the Sporting Life newspaper/magazine the W600 cabinets are considerably more rare than the T3s as well. Just 336 W600 cabinets have been graded between PSA and SGC compared with nearly 7 000 of the Turkey Red T3 cabinets.Hall of Fame infielder Bobby Wallace is a typically scarce example of the issue with just six graded copies of his W600 currently noted on the PSA and SGC population reports. While this example presents well the technical grade is accurate due to surface issues and writing on the back (as well as what appears to be a piece of a stamp affixed to the back of the cabinet mount). This cabinet can likely be dated to 1902-03 as Wallace is identified on the front as "Shortstop of the St. Louis (A. L.) club of 1902 " making it one of the earlier Sporting Life cabinet issues. That date also implies that the W600 Wallace predates his E107 making this the Hall of Famer"s first card. This is an attractive image of a Hall of Fame infielder from a very scarce issue.Population Data:SGC Population: 4 total graded one at this level one higher.PSA Population: 2 total graded both higher.
