1963 personal check filled out and signed by Hall of Famer Max Carey. Born Maximillian Carnarius Carey was involved with baseball as a player or manager from 1910 through 1933 later working as a scout and manager in the minors. After WWII Carey spent several years as the president of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League later managing the league's Fort Wayne Daisies. He was elected into the Hall of Fame in 1961. The check is in excellent condition though it clearly has been folded into quarters at some point. Carey's signature while bold has been stamped over by the purple "PAID" stamp on the face of the check. Still an authentic signature of a prewar Hall of Famer on a personal check is a desirable item.
