The W511 issue was a photographic strip card issue that contained athletes celebrities actors places and more. Babe Ruth was the only baseball player in the issue and can be found in four different variations (unnumbered plus #1 52 and 71). The black and white photos were printed on flimsy paper and are extremely difficult to locate in higher grades today. Presented is a 10-card uncut strip from the issue featuring the #1 Ruth card. The strip hs well-worn with left and right edges that have been somewhat tattered (the weak right edge interfering with the image of card #10). The strip has a significant crease on the left side between cards #2 and 3 and some minor staining is also evident but given the fragility of the paper it's fairly amazing that this strip exists and in such remarkable condition. Also included along with Ruth is #2 Tom Mix #3 Jack Dempsey #4 US Battleships #5 Mexican Cowboy #6 The White House (actually the US Capitol building) #7 L. A. Firpo #8 D. Fairbanks and Mary Pickford #9 Charlie Chaplin and #10 Jackie Coogan and Bill Edwards. An interesting strip documenting 1920s America.
