Issued by Fleer in 1959 the 80-card Ted Williams set was the first mainstream set to focus solely on a single player; the card fronts illustrate various photographic highlights of the player's career with the backs written as a continuing biography. The issue remains popular today due to its affordability as well as its subject matter. While the set features Williams individual cards focus on other figures throughout the Splendid Splinter's career; as a result cards exist featuring the likes of Babe Ruth Jimmy Foxx Eddie Collins Joe Cronin and more. Offered is an attractive 15-card uncut panel featuring several important cards from the set including images of Foxx and Ruth as well as several highlights from his great career. Presenting in approximate VG/EX condition the sheet is slightly toned with some corner and edge wear consistent with that grade. While 1959 Fleer cards are fairly common sheets and panels are much less so making this a scarce and interesting item.
