I have one to sell!
The 1937 Newark Bears are considered by many to be the finest minor league team ever assembled. Five years removed from that season the Yankees' farm team finished in first place in the International League with a record of 92-61. Nearly the entire roster that season would move on to some level of major league experience with Tommy Burne Joe Page and Snuffy Stirnweiss making significant contributions to the Yankees' success. Team Vice President George Weiss would eventually be inducted into the Hall of Fame. This well-preserved fold-out scorecard chronicles a game between the Bears and the Montreal Royals does exhibit some wear and tear particularly at the piece's folds where there are some visible tears. The game has been scored in pencil and has been signed on the cover in pencil by six members of the Bears: Johnny Babich Russ Derry Al Gerheauser Frankie Kelleher Boyd Perry and Walter Stewart. Additionally the interior of the scorecard has been signed by Montreal pitcher Glen Stewart. An excellent document of the most successful minor league franchises ever. Please note that while the signatures in this scorecard have not been authenticated it is covered by Love of the Game's autograph guarantee. See our Rules for more information and bid with extreme confidence.
