Taken from a 13-"card" set of sepia-toned portraits produced by The Sporting News in 1926 and 27 these 7x10 photos were printed on flimsy newsprint paper and featured the player image with a large white border on all four sides. While some of the M101-7s contained ads for The Sporting News on the reverse the majority were blank-backed as are each of the six premiums contained in this collection.Featured here are six of the 13 premiums each in remarkable overall condition very displayable and clean but each containing various age-related condition flaws. Contained herein are Harry Manush (HOF) fold in center and edge chipping one corner pulling away; Johnny Mostil (edge chipping and corner wear); Harry Rice (HOF - edge chipping); Kiki Cuyler (HOF - slight edge chipping); George Uhle (slight edge chipping and corner wear one fold across the center); and Pie Traynor (HOF edge chipping and a few spots of minor staining in the upper right. A very cool group of vintage photo premiums from the dawn of the live ball era.
