The 1953 Canadian Exhibit issue is an interesting one containing a blend of major and minor league players (the Montreal Royals of the International League) produced in much smaller quantities than the American Exhibit sets and issued only in Canada. Unlike the American Exhibit sets the cards in the Canadian issue were numbered and issued in two series of 32 cards each. The second series (Montreal) cards are offered in blue or reddish tints while the first series are available in green or red tints. The Major League players are made with images reused from past Exhibit cards while the Montreal players feature unique poses. Offered is a grouping of 64 cards from the second series including multiple duplicates as well as cards in multiple tints. Close to a Master Set this is a tremendous collection largely in higher grade averaging EX-MT with some lesser. A breakdown of the collection is as follows: #33 Hoak (red with writing on reverse and blue) #34 Alexander (2 - blue) #35 Simmons (2 - red 1 blue) #36 Lembo (2 red 1 blue) #37 Larker (2 blue) #38 Ludwick (red) #39 Moryn (2 blue) #40 Thompson (red) #41 Roebuck (1 red 2 blue) #42 Rose (1 red 1 blue) #43 Amoros (2 red 1 with writing on reverse 1 blue) #44 Milliken (2 blue) #45 Fabbro (1 red 1 blue) #46 Jacobs (1 red 2 blue) #47 Mauro (1 red 2 blue) #48 Fiala (2 red 1 blue) #49 Nelson (2 blue) #50 LaSorda (HOF - 1 blue) #51 Lee (2 red) #52 Coleman (1 red 1 blue) #53 Marchio (red) #54 Samson (2 red) #55 Mills (1 red 2 blue) #56 Ronning (red) #58 Cooper (blue) #59 Vernon (3 blue) #60 Ennis (1 red 2 blue) #61 Alston (HOF red poor condition) #62 Sisler (2 blue) #63 Goodman (red) #64 Kellner (1 red 1 blue). 64 tough-to-find cards from the second series nearly an entire basic set (missing just Stan Musial for completion) with multiple duplicates and color variations.
