I have one to sell!
Scarce advertising trade card issued to promote the Pittsburgh Crawfords games in this particular example a doubleheader against the Philadelphia team on Sunday August 19 1945. Depicting pitcher Willie "Schoolboy" Rowe the postcard utilizes the front to introduce the pitcher to recipients while using the reverse to advertise the coming game which was to be played at Parkway Field in Louisville Kentucky (which was the home of the Louisville Colonels American Association team). According to previous auction listings this is one of just three known examples of this rare issue each of which features Rowe. The cards all were discovered together as part of the personal collection of Negro Leaguer J. Leonard Mitchell were offered at public auction in 2009 and this example was offered once again in 2014. The card the highest-graded of the three known specimens is in VG/EX condition as assessed by SGC with minor surface wear and a very slight tear along the top edge. A rare Negro League card from a very obscure issue.
