Previously uncatalogued card featuring Hall of Famer John McGraw from an issue that according to research conducted when this card first appeared at auction featured a number of athletes with just four known baseball players: Ruth Speaker Meusel and McGraw. McGraw the King of Clubs is pictured in portrait format (as is the case with most of the subjects in playing card issues) a coat of red ink applied to the entire card front but not the reverse. A grade of FAIR 20 is certainly generous as the card is very well-worn but with the only known example it becomes difficult to quibble about grade. A wonderful discovery key to a John McGraw player set.
