Absolutely beautiful example from the difficult Diamond Gum pins set of 1911. Part of a 32-pin set this small (1" diameter) pin is one of the issue's keys part of a fascinating set simply loaded with Hall of Famers stars and members of the champion 1910 Philadelphia Athletics. Each pin contains a sepia-toned player photo surrounded by a blue border advertising Diamond Gum (or advertising the A's team). Individual pins from the issue are very valuable and difficult to find; a complete set is a true scarcity. This example of Mathewson has been graded NM-MT 8 by PSA in near-perfect condition with virtually no wear. With high-grade examples from this set in short supply this is a true hobby rarity.
