The Rudy Strejc Collection contains several groupings of cards from the 1940s and 50s that were clearly purchased later in Mr. Strejc"s life. While he loved his tobacco-era cards and handled them quite extensively he clearly did not spend as much time handling the cards he procured as an adult. While there were not many of them Mr. Strejc clearly buying occasional small groups of cards to keep some "skin in the game " those cards present extraordinarily well today.Though we elected to submit some of Mr. Strejc"s 1948-49 Leaf baseball cards to SGC for grading we also elected to keep some ungraded as Rudy Strejc collected them. Presented is a small grouping of 1948-49 Fleer baseball ungraded consisting of the following:#17 Frank Overmire (VG/EX) #29 Elmer Valo (VG/EX) #31 Lou Brissie (VG) #47 George Vico (VG/EX) #53 Johnny Vander Meer (G/VG) #102 Gene Hermanski (VG/EX) and #136 Cliff Aberson (Full sleeve VG). Each card boasts strong eye appeal with minor creasing to the Brissie and Vander Meer cards and other flaws such as corner dings centering issues light wrinkling and wear.
