Interesting and highly desirable baseball currency as issued by the London Clothing Company of Rich Hill Mo (the "originator of low prices " so we have them to thank). The Detroit Wolverines today remain one of the era's most popular teams despite the 1888 season being the team's last. Featuring eventual Hall of Famers Dan Brouthers Deacon White Ned Hanlon and Sam Thompson the team finished the 1888 season with a 68-83 record good only for fifth place. At the end of the season the players were sold off and the team disbanded despite having played the first game of major league baseball just seven years prior. The piece is in GOOD condition once folded into quarters and now featuring slight tears at the folds but still displaying well. Featured on the front is Detroit manager Bill Watkins and on the reverse can be found Lady Baldwin Chas. Bennett Fatty Briody Dan Brouthers (HOF) Fred Dunlap Charlie Ganzel Ned Hanlon (HOF) Hardy Richardson Jack Rowe Sam Thompson (HOF) Stump Wiedman and Deacon White (HOF). An outstanding document of 19th Century baseball and its use in commercial advertising.
