Extraordinary card graded POOR 1 by PSA due to staining and paper loss on the reverse consistent with being stored in a scrapbook and subsequently removed. Such cards are a mixed blessing among 19th Century collectors; while scrapbooking was a popular pastime of the era glue remnants often caused damage to the card reverses upon removal. Still those same scrapbooks also protected the cards from the considerable wear and tear that 19th Century cards often received; many of the most beautiful 19th Century cards we've seen today maintained their beauty due to scrapbook storage. Indeed the front of this card depicting Pittsburgh catcher George Miller looks quite attractive with sharp corners and crisp color.
