The Piedmont Factory 42 reverse is the 10th more scarce T206 back just behind the elusive Carolina Brights and ahead of both American Beauty 460 and Brown Hindu on the rankings of T206 backs by scarcity. The Piedmont Cigarettes ad on the reverse is often misleading since Piedmont in general is so common. This example was found by our consignor in a group of Piedmont-backed T206 cards he purchased at auction - what evidently appeared to many as simply another low-grade Piedmont Hall of Famer was in fact an incredibly scarce back variety. While the Mordecai Brown "Chicago On Shirt" pose is available with backs even more rare than Piedmont Factory 42 this is certainly one of the more difficult examples of this card that you are likely to find. Population data on this card is unknown due to the Piedmont reverse and the grading companies' inconsistencies with labeling this back variety. Still it is undeniably scarce.
