Personal check written by Hall of Fame pitcher Burleigh Grimes for the purchase of five cords of firewood. Grimes not just a Hall of Fame pitcher but a tremendous scout credited with discovering Jim Palmer was elected to the Hall in 1964. He was 85 years old when he wrote this check in 1978 accounting for the shaky handwriting. The check is in good condition with some folds and wear to the top edge.
