On May 19 of 1948 the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers 14-7 in Brooklyn. Future Hall of Famer Enos Slaughter drove in a run that day going 2-for-3 with a double as he rebounded from a slump that had his average dip as low as .190. He rebounded quickly finishing the season at .321 with 11 home runs and 90 RBI. This postcard postmarked from New York NY on that day has been authenticated and encapsulated by SGC. While Slaughter signatures are by no means scarce true vintage signatures signed and inscribed in the 1940s are much more interesting. A beautiful card that has had just one owner prior to being consigned to LOTG.
I have one to sell!
