By 1933 Dizzy Dean was an American icon and superstar pitcher finishing the season with a 20-18 record in 48 appearances with 26 complete games. His legend would only increase the following year when he would win 30 games and along with his brother Paul put on one of the game's most dazzling exhibitions of pitching skill and endurance over the final month of the season leading the Cardinals to a World Championship and an MVP award. Dean's dominance between 1932 and 1936 was so great that he was a Hall of Fame shoo-in despite his career being curttailed to injury; after 1937 he would never win more than 10 games in a season. Graded EX 60 by SGC this scarce Worch Cigars card is marred by some corner wear but is otherwise extremely strong one of the more difficult to find of Dean's many 1930s issues from a very desirable and tough-to-track-down set.
