High-grade example of Mantle's tougher high-number card from the 1959 issue highlighting his selection to the 1959 All-Star team. The design of the Sporting News All-Star cards were a stark contrast to the standard 1959 design making them a very appealing group of cards to young collectors in 1959 and perhaps pre-dating the craze over modern insert cards and parallels. This example graded NM+ 7.5 by PSA is slightly off-center with corner touches just a tad too pronounced to qualify it for a NM-MT holder. Still an outstanding card.
