The 1955 All-American Sports Club cards were a set of 500 cards that were mailed to kids paying a one-dollar membership fee to join the club. Recent finds of the sheets have resulted in a proliferation of high-grade examples that have been carefully cut by modern collectors, yielding big-dollar, high-grade cards.

This proliferation has drawn attention to the much more difficult premiums issued by the same club, much larger black and white photos measuring approximately 4 7/8" x 5 3/4". The known checklist seems to include just five players (four baseball players plus prizefighter Rocky Marciano), with PSA having graded just seven examples from the issue. Unquestionably, the key to the known examples is of Jackie Robinson, a sharp and clean image familiar to collectors as the same image included on his 1950 JJK Copyart and 1948 Old Gold cards. This example presents wonderfully, with sharp corners and a clean surface. A light surface wrinkle at the left edge near the center of the card and a diagonal crease at the right corner are both difficult to see without close inspection, reducing the technical grade but not the aesthetic appeal of the card. One of Jackie Robinson's most difficult cards, an obscure issue unknown to many collectors.
